Edgar is a social media automation tool, much like Buffer or Dlvr.it which curates content to your social media profiles. Unlike the other two tools which require constant queue filling, Edgar refills your queue automatically to make sure that you are always publishing to your social accounts.

How does it work?

You basically add your content to a Edgar’s library which you can then personalize based on category, account, and schedule. You can add a photo or video to your post as well. Edgar will automatically shorten your link for you (you can even connect your bit.ly account to keep detailed analytics of your traffic.

Once you’ve set up your library, you can then customize your different categories and decide when they will be published in their visual calendar. Setting up new posts in your library is easy too- you simply click on Add New Content and start writing your post. Once it’s finished, you can select which category you want to add it to, and which social account library you’d like to attribute it to.

You will even have a preview that shows for posting to Facebook where you can leave a personalized message. The interface is very user-friendly and it’s pretty intuitive. You don’t have to be technologically savvy in order to understand how it works, and they offer video tutorials to help you better manage the tool.

With the Edgar app, you can also choose RSS feeds and pull content directly from those sources and add them to your library. If there’s a site or a blog that you love enough, you can also set it up to where it automatically adds content to your library.

Edgar, unlike a lot of apps in it’s domain, does not have a purely free version. It is also considerably more expensive than other apps, however, it’s accessible to everyone in terms of UX, and the automation is worth it if you don’t have time to spend on social media curation.
